Friendly if somewhat well worn cafe currently open 0900-1300, serving a variety of traditional fried all day breakfast fayre, located on the south of the main hangars away from the runways.

The airport is currently undergoing some major building work with new hangars, tower and other industrial units. Unfortunately the improvements don't stretch to a hard runway as originally envisaged. The approach into 02 involves crossing a major motorway on final and can result in being high. The grass runway itself isn't perfectly flat but satisfactory. Staff very friendly and helpful. FISO service. Beware that Southend controlled airspace encroaches close to the eastern side of the airfield. A lower cost VFR GA airfield for the area.
