The grass runway was quite rough.
Both the fueller and radio man were friendly and helpful. They specifically requested pilots to not wear hi-vis as this might confuse airfield employees :)
We didn't visit, but there is a small aviation museum on the airfield.The beach and the town of Sandown are walkable in 30 minutes, and for the kids there's two zoos and a theme park reasonably close by.
