24h PN required for immigration from intra Schengen, confirmed as necessary by phone. Sent an email and received confirmation. When we got there no one was aware of our planned arrival but no one made any fuss about it either. Hangar had been requested due to expected wind, was also not communicated to tower but one was available and provided. On departure another Gendec was filed as requested by the AIP. No one asked anything. Police in Belgium were puzzled why Gendec was filed or needed.
Approach is very scenic. The arrival was very windy and between the hills there was very strong downdraft until final approach (RNP 30). Careful the airport closes when X-wind is 15 kts or greater, was 12 kts on landing. Overall experience disregarding the Gendec stuff was very good. Beautiful hardware on the tarmac. Overflight of the race circuit on instrument approach.
