This airport is conveniently located south of Frankfurt and one of the possibilities to access the area while avoiding EDDF. While the airport does not have IFR procedures, the IFR/VFR transition is easy. AFIS relays squawk and departure frequency to the pilot on the ground and shortly after takeoff, you can expect a handoff and climb.
