My home base and a fantastic one. Heated hanger, great guys in ops and handling. Fuel expensive (nothing to do with Saxon ) No idea why some folk moan about handling costs when these guys have to actually handle you it being an international airport and all, they have a lovely lounge and it's thirty quid.... Great opening hours - single ILS a bit limiting if you have no ADF for the 09 NDB and it's below circle to land but otherwise all good. Tower and apporach always helpful, better still if you know what you are doing. On his second solo my son had an engine warning light come on 200 ft on climb out and they instantly cleared the decks even though he said he thought it was only a sensor - by the time he was downwind the firecrews were already on the threashold. A great place to fly - the only downside the nearest IFR div is Southend.....
