Used Pamplona as a fuel and customs/immigration stop flying from Portugal to UK today.
After notifying the airport by email I received an email from the fuel company asking for a form to be filled in, takes 3 mins. With this done the truck pulled up 30 seconds after I shut down. NB - as noted in the AIP, the fuel co takes AirBP and cash, but no credit cards!! NB, the fuel price I was quoted before arrival of about 2.20 was wrong. The final bill included a bunch of extras such as hook up, which took the total to 2.67 per litre.
Immigration and customs requires hiking around the ramp to the flashy terminal and trying all the doors until finding one unlocked. Then you have to find you way upstairs to pay the measly landing fee, only 10 Euros. The downstairs to wait for the police to come and stamp our passports etc. NB again. The AIP says that you must use the handling service unless 1) you are GA, 2) your aircraft is less than 3.5 tons, 3) not a "jet" and 4) there are no pax. I told them we were both crew and my wife wore her slightly sus crew card. We were not challenged.
Having said all that, I would definitely use again. From shutdown to startup was exactly 60 minutes. We cancelled IFR and did a visual approach from point W. No problems. The scenery is spectacular. Its almost exactly half way between Portimao in the Algarve and S England.
