Palermo aeroclub airfield. Very friendly; appears to be run by two guys. Contact email [email protected] There are quite specific approach instructions https://www.aeroclubpalermo.it/index.php?option=com_content%26view=article%26id=81%26Itemid=75 but when I approached (along the N coast of Sicily, low level) it was obvious that overflight of the city was unavoidable so I turned left early and climbed up to 4500ft and flew the final on 33 over the mountains and straight down. Departure is similarly complicated and basically you must call up Palermo Approach as soon as you are airborne. I got a bill of €320 of which most was 100LL and probably about 80 litres but I have lost the breakdown. It may not include landing or parking either. I departed from there early morning (8:45 local) to get back to the UK same day (via LFMT) and thought I had not paid for landing or parking, and there was nobody who I could speak to about payment, so I emailed them to say I will pay it by bank transfer or whatever but I never heard back. If I do hear I will update this report. City of Palermo is worth seeing for the mixture of ancient architectures, for the Botanic Gardens (quite wonderful), and for very little else. Accommodation overpriced, taxis rip you off everywhere, noisy, very very dirty. Trip writeup here: https://www.euroga.org/forums/trips-airports/14188-uk-to-croatia-and-sicily-sep-2022
