More like a café. Initially said they do only drinks, waffles and cakes, but after insisting a bit, they did sandwiches (cheese and/or cold cuts).
Terrace with view on aerodrome, well oriented for catching the sun, especially in the afternoon (south-west-ish).

The taxiway parallel to the runway is grass, but there is a hard taxiway connection exit from the runway to the ramp. At times of low traffic, you can backtrack on the runway and not use any grass.
Theoretically German language only (that's what it says on the approach chart), but in practice the info agent will speak English to you.
They used runway 13 the whole afternoon, even though it was tailwind.
They say they don't take non-German payment cards.
The surroundings are very beautiful and hilly. Views worth a bicycle tour (but hilly). Shortest road to Holzminden is through the woods / paths made for BMX/mountain bikes, if you want to take only "good quality roads", expect a significant detour via Höxter (16 km instead of 7 km).
