Good airport for training flights: T&G is 50% off. RNP and NDB approaches available and they are typically happy to accommodate any kind of training approaches.
Check tower opening hours in AIP resp. NOTAMs otherwise A/A french only according to AIP. Customs 24h PNR via Email to French customs (see AIP).
Staff is nice and payment is fast. It is also possible to pay via the aerops app. ATC is generally very friendly and accommodating.
Otherwise I can only recommend checking out the Alsace region. It has some nice old little towns and good food, but you probably need a car to get around.
