Visiting a friend who lives in Canterbury. PPR by phone, but the airfield was deserted when I arrived so £10 landing left in an envelope. Fuel available by arrangement. Grass maybe a little bumpy but not a problem. There's a caravan with sofas and tea/coffee for pilots (more civilised than it sounds). We had lunch in the village pub, drove to Herne Bay to have ice creams on the beach, then had a look at the Reculver towers (ruined church and castle, a local landmark). Very good day out.
