We arrived in Salzburg VFR from the south. Although there were only 2 airplanes in the pattern the controller sounded stressed and had quite a commanding tone. Lots of space at the GA apron however this day was busy so we had to park second row. There is a bus stop right in front of the airport which takes you in ~20 minutes to the inner city.
Lots of castles, museums, etc. to look at in the city. I recommend walking up the Hohensalzburg Fortress to have a nice view over the city. The place around Mozart's birthplace was overcrowded.
On departure we had to fly via Whiskey to Teisendorf instead of Ainring which did not make sense to me since we departed runway 33 and there was no other traffic from that direction.
