Visited a friend in Amsterdam and decided to fly VFR to Schiphol. I recommend studying the AIP carefully, it describes initial radio call phraseology (shortened compared to standard) and taxiing on the K apron (handled by GA Amsterdam not ground). During my preparation I contacted the two handling agent in Amsterdam for a quote: JetAviation and Aviapartner: Aviapartner was slightly cheaper (130EUR vs 139EUR w/o VAT) and they responded with a detailed quote after 10 minutes. From JetAviation I only got a PDF with the general price list for me to dug through, so I decided to go with Aviapartner.
We approached via Victor at 1000ft and landed on GA runway 22/04. After taxiing to the K apron our handling agent guided us with the follow-me car to our parking position right next to the King's BBJ. Parking is 4EUR per day. Only JetA1 is available and they come with the big fuel truck (see pictures). No minimum quantity. Handling agents were very nice and helped with the luggage etc. for the 2 minute drive to the GA terminal. No security checks at the GA terminal since this part of the airport is deemed the "unclean" area. Basically you can get to and from the airplane in 5 minutes without any hassles.
For VFR departure you have to request startup clearance via Delivery and then back to GA Amsterdam for taxiing on the K apron (cf. AIP). Holding short of the runway we asked for a departure via the VFR sector (city) which was granted immediately.
Obviously the airspace and frequencies are busy but ATC made us feel welcome nonetheless. All in all we payed 310.75EUR for our visit.
